Hi Rose-Marie, nice to meet you. I have met a couple of French Druids over the years so I know there must be some sort of community, or at least a couple of groups over there. Are you a member of any of the French Druid Orders?

I think Animism is the cutting edge of British Paganism (but then I would think that!), though seriously more and more people are identifying as Animist and the postpagan ideas Fishbowl has written so well about are having an influence. There are also groups like the Druid Order of Naturalists (http://caerabred.freeforums.org/) being formed. I think many people are looking for a path which enshrines a genuinely spiritual, earth centred view of the world without requiring beliefs in Deities or uncritically adopting rituals or theologies which may no longer be appropriate.

Anyway, I'll stop rambling! Welcome!

I have a friend in Clermont Ferrand. Her name is Cecile Santi. Do you know her maybe ?
I would be interested to know more about in deep ecology or animism activities in South France.
